the alternative picture page!Since this past week was so rich in experiences and culture, we've decided to let our bounty of pictures spill out onto a special alternative picture page. Here's the rest of the best -- a collection of mostly textless pictures from the week that was. Hope you enjoy! |
Kristanne loves to mimic monuments. This particular set of monuments is in Josefov, the Jewish Quarter of Prague's Old Town. |
Prague has a great metro system -- fast, safe, and efficient. Probably the neatest aspect of the metro, though, is the staggeringly long escalators you have to take to get down to the platform. That's one such escalator there at right. |
Good lord, is that sun? Is Kristanne really not wearing a jacket? A rare bit of sunshine finds Kristanne lolling about the first square of Hradcany Castle. |
Kristanne loves the snack foods of the Czech Republic. |
"Hyper" brand bacon snacks feature a realistic strip of colored fat down the middle. I have no idea how they taste since Kristanne actively protested their inclusion in our grocery basket. Thanks, Kristanne! |
Panoramic shot from the Petrin Hill, looking over to Hradcany Castle and down to Mala Strana, the Vltava River, and the Josefov district beyond. Can you believe this shot didn't make it into the main episode? Neither can I. |
This is the American Embassy in Prague. It's housed in a neat old palace. It also features guards with what appear to be giant dental mirrors examining the undercarriages of cars to make sure they're not leaking oil. They really don't like oil leaks at the American Embassy. |
This is a Happy Holiday Shot of the St. George Convent inside Hradcany Castle, complete with a Christmas tree in front. Don't try to deck the halls inside the convent, though -- the guards will tackle you and beat you senseless. |
